You know about the importance of family meal time, right? It’s crazy to think about how many benefits research has shown there are to eating meals together as a family. This is something intentional that I want to make sure we prioritize as a family. We aren’t always good at it with crazy busy schedules, but it has to become a priority. I’m sharing with you a tool that I discovered recently to help make family meal time even more time fun and meaningful. I’m also sharing a FREEBIE printable to use during your family meal times.
Have you been to Chick-fil-A recently? We love Chick-fil-A! The closest one to us is 30 minutes away but we still find ourselves there quite frequently. We always trade in Savannah’s toy from the kids meal for ice cream, because, well, that’s just awesome, right?!
But the past 3 times we went we got these awesome goodies as toys and I just couldn’t turn them back in (so I just bought a kids ice cream instead).
I just LOVE these! What a perfect addition to family dinner time to help facilitate meaningful and memorable family table talk!
Savannah is a bit too young for some of the cards included in these games and question cards, but she can do some and we’ve had a lot of fun with them! I’ve been carrying them around in my purse and pulling them out while we are waiting on food at a restaurant. She loves playing games and so this is a fun motivator for her to be well behaved and for us all to be engaged at the table instead of looking at our phones or worrying about other distractions. Here’s some examples of what the game cards are like:
My favorite though are the Table Topics cards that have simple questions to get conversations started:
Interested in getting your own? Head to Chick-fil-A and see if these are still available (they will probably change toys soon as they’ve had these for about a month or so now) or I found the full versions of these table conversation starters on Amazon- check out all of the different sets that are available!
I was inspired by these little gems and thought it would be great to create a little freebie for you to print and use around your own tables, especially if purchasing a set just isn’t in the budget right now!
